Asunafo North Municipal, Ahafo
NewGoaso Forest Reserve
A dense tropical forest reserve encircling the Ahafo Region's capital, offering shaded trails and a cool escape from the town below.

Carved from the former Brong-Ahafo Region in 2019, Ahafo is a quiet, cocoa-rich landscape of forested hills, sacred groves, and small-town hospitality. Goaso serves as its administrative capital, and the surrounding Asutifi and Tano districts harbour pockets of intact forest that draw birdwatchers and eco-tourists. The region's cultural identity is rooted in Akan traditions, and its relative remoteness makes it one of Ghana's most authentic and least commercialised destinations.
