From Sunyani, trotros to Berekum depart frequently from the main station (about 45 minutes). From Kumasi, VIP and O.A. buses to Berekum take roughly 3 hours via the Kumasi–Sunyani road.
Arrange a guide ahead of time for palace access, and bring extra cash if you plan to buy woven cloth directly from the weavers.
Drove out specifically for this and it was locked with no one around despite arriving during posted hours. Wasted trip, would call ahead before going.
Alright but felt more like a couple of rooms than a full heritage centre. Still worth a short visit if you're already in Berekum.
Good stop, learned a lot about the local Akan traditions I didn't know before. Entry fee was very reasonable, GHS 10.
Small centre but the exhibits on Berekum's royal history and Kente weaving traditions were really well put together. Staff clearly know their material and were happy to go into detail when we asked questions.
