Historic but honestly a bit hard to appreciate without a knowledgeable guide, some sections just look like mounds of earth to an untrained eye. Once explained the significance clicked though.
Built to defend against slave raiders, the mud construction has held up remarkably well given the age. Parts have eroded but you can still trace the full outline of the wall around the old town. Interesting contrast to the coastal castles.
