Enter via the Kyabobo National Park gate outside Nkwanta town (reachable by STC/VIP bus from Accra's Achimota terminal, roughly 350km/6-8 hours); a Wildlife Division guide leads the 45-60 minute forest trail in from the park headquarters to the falls.
Wear grippy footwear for wet rock near the pool, and don't swim without asking your guide about current conditions; the pool depth changes with the season. Pack out everything you bring in; there are no bins on the trail.
One of the least crowded waterfalls I've seen in Ghana, had it entirely to ourselves for an hour. Guide was knowledgeable about the surrounding forest reserve too.
Combined this with our Kyabobo park visit, the trail to the falls adds maybe an hour each way. Water was cold and refreshing after the walk. No changing rooms so plan your swimwear accordingly.
Barely any photos of this online before we went, now I understand why people keep it quiet. Small crowd of forest around a genuinely powerful cascade. Wear shoes with grip, the rocks near the pool are slick.
