From Sunyani, trotros to Kenyasi run via Goaso (roughly 2 hours total). From Kumasi, connect through Goaso on the Kumasi–Goaso road before continuing south to Kenyasi by shared taxi.
Call ahead through the district assembly to confirm the museum is staffed, and bring a small donation in cash to support the community guides.
Brought my nephews here on a Sunday afternoon. They liked the old farming tools display. Building could use better lighting but the content is solid.
Worth a stop if you're already in Kenyasi but don't go out of your way for it. A few rooms of artifacts and some old photos, that's really it.
Loved this. The displays on the transition from farming to mining life were more honest than I expected, showing both the jobs it brought and what got disrupted. Staff were happy to answer questions.
Tiny museum near Kenyasi but the caretaker gave us a proper walkthrough of Akan settlement history and how farming shaped the area before the mining companies came. Entry was GHS 5. Took about 30 minutes total.
