Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary, near Nkoranza, Nkoranza North District, Bono East Region
From Techiman, board a trotro toward Nkoranza (about 30 minutes), then a shared taxi or motorbike taxi covers the final stretch to Boabeng village (roughly 20 minutes). From Kumasi, connect via Techiman on any Kumasi–Tamale bus before transferring south.
Bring bananas or groundnuts to offer the monkeys if permitted by your guide, wear comfortable walking shoes, and keep a respectful distance to avoid startling the troops.
Nice to see the monkeys but our visit was cut short by heavy rain. Would like to go back and spend more time on the trails when conditions are better.
Great sanctuary, saw plenty of monkeys within the first ten minutes of walking in. Facilities near the entrance are basic but the wildlife experience makes up for it.
One of the more unique wildlife experiences I've had anywhere, not just Ghana. The relationship between the village and the monkeys is really something to see up close.
This place is special. The mona monkeys come right up close in the village since they're protected by local taboo, and we also spotted black and white colobus higher up in the trees. Our guide explained the burial ground for monkeys which was fascinating. GHS 20 entry plus GHS 20 for the guide.
