From Sunyani, trotros to Wenchi run regularly (about 1 hour). From Techiman, shared taxis and trotros cover the short 30–40 minute hop west into Wenchi.
Ask a local guide to confirm the current market-day rotation before travelling, dress modestly near the mosque, and always ask permission before photographing worshippers or traders up close.
Nice combination stop, old mosque plus a busy market right next to it. Go early before the afternoon heat sets in.
Came on a market day and the whole town center was packed with traders, some crossing from nearby regions to sell. Great for photos, great for bargaining, genuinely one of the more memorable market experiences I've had in Ghana.
The mosque exterior is beautiful but as a non-Muslim visitor there wasn't much for me to do besides look from outside. The market nearby was more my speed.
Interesting old mosque with the distinctive mud-brick Sudanic style architecture. We visited on a non-market day so it was quiet, would recommend going on market day for more atmosphere.
