Any STC, VIP, or Metro Mass bus running the Kumasi–Tamale route passes directly through Kintampo (about 3.5 hours from Kumasi, 2.5 hours from Tamale). From Kintampo town's lorry station, shared taxis or a short trotro hop cover the 4km north to the falls entrance.
Wear grippy footwear for the stone steps, bring a change of clothes if you plan to swim, and start early to beat the midday crowds and heat.
Falls themselves are pretty but I felt the entry fee plus the extra charges for parking and changing rooms added up more than expected for a short visit.
Really nice stop, we swam at the base pool and it was refreshing after a long drive. A bit crowded on the weekend we went, weekday might be quieter.
Beautiful falls, steps down can be slippery so wear proper shoes. Worth the short detour if you're traveling the Kumasi to Tamale road.
Stopped here on the way from Kumasi to Tamale, easy to reach right off the main road near Kintampo. The three tiers are genuinely impressive, especially after rain when the flow is strong. GHS 15 entry, changing rooms available if you want to swim at the base.
