From Elmina, take a shared taxi or trotro toward Ampenyi/Brenu junction (about 20-25 minutes, GHS 8-12), then a short okada or walk to the beach access road. From Cape Coast, it's roughly a 40-minute drive via Elmina. From Accra, combine with a Cape Coast/Elmina day trip (about 3.5-4 hours total).
Bring cash for food stalls and access fees. Swim close to shore; lifeguards are not present. The palm groves offer good natural shade, but bring a mat or chair as seating is limited outside the bar areas.
Nice beach but not much to do besides sit and swim, which honestly was exactly what I needed. Bring your own food, options nearby are limited.
Lovely and uncrowded on a weekday. Coconut groves give great shade which you don't get on a lot of Ghana beaches. Road in is a bit sandy so a regular sedan struggled a little.
About 20 minutes from Elmina, water is calmer here than most of the coast so decent for actual swimming. A few vendors selling coconuts and grilled fish, nothing overwhelming.
Calm and palm-fringed, way more relaxed than the beaches closer to Accra. We hammocked between coconut trees for hours. Small local bar sells cold Star beer right on the sand.
