The center is a 5-10 minute walk from Cape Coast Castle along the seafront/Liberation Road, or a short taxi ride (GHS 8-10) from the STC station. From Accra, take a Cape Coast-bound trotro or STC bus from Kaneshie (about 3 hours), then walk or taxi from the town center.
Bargaining is expected and friendly. Start around 50-60% of the initial asking price. Ask artisans about the meaning behind adinkra symbols or kente patterns before buying; it makes for a much richer souvenir. Cash (GHS) is preferred over card.
Small but worth 30 minutes if you're already at the castle. Good variety of crafts, some genuinely well made pieces among the tourist stuff.
Loved seeing the artisan workshops up close, wood carving and kente weaving both happening side by side. Bought a few small gifts to take back home. Friendly vendors, no aggressive pressure to buy.
Nice craft selection but vendors quote higher prices to obvious foreigners at first, you do have to negotiate. Worth a stop after visiting the castle since it's so close by.
Good spot to buy kente and other crafts directly from the weavers, prices are more reasonable than in Accra markets. Watched a young guy weaving on a traditional loom for a good 20 minutes.
