Best time to visit
June through September, during the rainy season, when both falls run at full volume and sometimes merge into one. Arrive before 10 AM on weekends to beat tour bus crowds; weekdays are noticeably quieter.

From Accra, take the N4 highway toward Koforidua (about 1.5 hours), then continue through Huhunya toward Boti village, roughly 30 more minutes on a mostly tarred road. By public transport: catch an Accra–Koforidua trotro or STC bus from Accra's Tudu or Achimota station, then transfer to a Koforidua–Boti (via Huhunya) trotro from the Zongo lorry park in Koforidua. Shared taxis also cover the final stretch from Huhunya.
Wear closed, grippy shoes; the steps get slippery with spray on rainy days. Bring a change of clothes if you plan to wade at the base. Hire one of the guides stationed at the entrance to walk you to Umbrella Rock and the Three-Headed Palm; it's a short but easy-to-miss detour without local knowledge. Mobile signal is patchy past Huhunya, so download offline maps beforehand.
Beautiful spot, just wish the changing rooms were better maintained. Vendors sell fresh coconut and roasted plantain at the entrance which was a nice touch.
Grew up hearing about this place and finally made it. Brought the whole family, kids swam in the lower pool while we relaxed on the rocks. Road from Koforidua town is decent, about 30 minutes.
Went in dry season and the flow was pretty weak, more of a trickle than a waterfall. Might have set my expectations too high from photos. Still a nice forest walk though.
Popular weekend spot from Koforidua, gets busy with families and church groups. Steps down can be slippery, wear proper shoes not slides. Umbrella rock nearby is a nice add-on if you have time.
Visited in the rainy season and both the male and female falls were roaring. The pool at the bottom is cold but so refreshing after the walk down. Entry was around GHS 20, guides available if you want the local legend behind the two falls.
