Near Kumasi Cultural Centre, Bantama Road, Kumasi, Ashanti Region
From Kejetia or Adum in central Kumasi, take a taxi or Bolt to the Kumasi Cultural Centre off Bantama Road, around 10 minutes and GHS 15-20. Several trotro routes from Kejetia also pass along Bantama Road within walking distance.
Photography inside may require a small additional fee, so ask at the front desk. A guide is available on request and adds valuable context to the regalia on display. Combine with a visit to the adjacent Kumasi Cultural Centre craft shops.
Good half hour visit. Not huge but the pieces on display are genuinely valuable, you can tell from how carefully everything is guarded.
Everyone talks about Manhyia Palace but this one deserves more attention too. The gold artifacts room alone justified the ticket for me. Staff were friendly and let us take our time.
Okay museum but felt a bit dated in how things were displayed. Some of the placards had missing information.
Smaller than Manhyia Palace but the regalia collection here is genuinely impressive, gold weights and ceremonial swords especially. Worth the extra stop if you're already doing the palace museum.
