Kejetia is in central Kumasi and reachable by trotro from anywhere in the city; nearly every route terminates at or near Kejetia station. From Adum it's a 10–15 minute walk; from the Kumasi Airport area, a taxi or Bolt takes about 20 minutes.
Bargain respectfully; starting around 30-40% below the quoted price is normal. Keep cash in small denominations and carry bags in front of you. Wear comfortable shoes; the market involves a lot of walking on uneven ground. Consider hiring a local guide for your first visit.
I do my school shopping here every year and the prices can't be beaten anywhere else in the region. Yes it's chaotic but that's part of the character.
Had my phone lifted out of my back pocket within the first twenty minutes. My fault for not being careful enough but wanted to warn others, keep valuables in a front pocket or bag you can see.
Crowded and hot, which I expected, but I wish there was better signage for finding specific sections. Took us almost an hour just to find the shoe area.
This place is massive, easy to get lost in. We went for fabric and found incredible prices once we started bargaining properly. Bring small notes because vendors rarely have change for big bills.
