From Takoradi, take a trotro toward Agona Nkwanta, then a connecting shared taxi or arranged transport to Akwidaa village (roughly 2 hours total), followed by a short boat or walking trail to the cape itself. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for the final unpaved stretch, especially in wet season. From Accra, connect via STC bus to Takoradi first.
Roads are rough and best attempted in daylight; arrange transport in advance through your lodge. Mobile network coverage is limited, so download offline maps beforehand. Bring cash, insect repellent, and enough water, as facilities are minimal.
One of the most remote feeling places we visited in Ghana. Bring your own food and water, there's basically nothing out there besides the lighthouse and the beaches.
Beautiful but the road really is as bad as people say, our car scraped bottom twice on the way in. Worth it once you're there but plan for a rough ride.
Loved the isolation, felt like we had the whole coastline to ourselves. Lighthouse climb gives a great view of both beaches at once.
Road in through Ankasa forest is rough, took us almost 2 hours from Axim, but arriving at the lighthouse with two untouched beaches on either side made it worthwhile. Barely anyone else there.
